Library Cards

Elk Rapids District Library Card
Easy to get, easy to use, and free to everyone within the district. Library cards are available for residents of Elk Rapids Village, Elk Rapids Township, Milton Township, or Torch Lake Township. If you are not sure if your home is included in our district, a library staff member can look it up for you. Patrons outside the district may use the materials in the library and have access to computers and the wireless, or may purchase a non-resident card to remove materials from the library. Library programs are open to the public and a card is not required.

If you do not have a library card, getting one is easy! Simply bring a driver’s license or state ID that has your current address on it to the library or your child’s open house and fill out a registration card. If your ID does not have a current address, bring something to verify your address such as a property tax bill, bank statement, current utility bill, or a lease or rental agreement.

A parent or legal guardian must come into the library and sign a registration card in person for children ages 5 - 17 to receive a card. Children under 5 use their parent’s or guardian’s card.

Check the Library's calendar for a listing of our current programs.
